About Me

My photo
austinjoaquin
Ellensburg, Wa, United States
Hey this is Austin, I'm an artist. All the images you see on this site are representations of my work. For as long as I can remember, I've been passionate about creative expression in many different ways. Born into a family of creatives I have always been encouraged to pursue the arts. I received formal training in painting, sculpture, and music from Central Washington University. Travel to Europe and an extended study of art in Santa Fe, New Mexico furthered my love and interest of the arts. From my perspective the work I make is in constant evolution. I love trying new things using new techniques and experimenting with both refined and organic materials. The process of creating with an array of materials has always been as rewarding as a finished artwork. I consider my work to be like writings in a journal, each piece, no matter the scale, reveals a new layer of possibility and allows me to pursue multi faceted work. I'm currently setting goals in the public art realm and love discovering new relationships. The dynamic challenges when working with others brings about a strong and rewarding connection with art and everyday life.
